The Basic Rules of the Network

Welcome! This Network, with Groups and Forum, is specifically for those who have an interest in Torah and Tanakh from a Jewish perspective, either as Jews By Birth, Jews By Choice, Torah Observant Gentiles or Tolerant Xians wanting to learn. Any attempts to missionize for any other religion, or posting of Xtian or Messianic texts will result in immediate expulsion, no questions asked. Remember to keep focus on the Topic of each discussion, and to treat fellow members with respect and decency - personal attacks, foul language and conversational bullying will equally result in expulsion after three warnings. The Admin reserves the right to make such membership decisions at our discretion.

Messianics who apply for membership will routinely be declined, as it has been my experience that they are more bother than joy in a Forum like this. For some reason they have great trouble following the rules, and I am tired of cleaning up after them and expel them.

I recently had to ban 7 members due to their Page content - all of them Messianics - as you all know, Xian or Messianic content is not allowed here, and it says so clearly on the front page. The fact that those rashaim came here and tried their deceptions only proves that they are the Amalekites of our times and that they have no part in the World to Come.

I have changed the options for religious profile, so that they cannot label themselves "Jewish" and "Torah Observant Gentile" at the same time - from Now on there will be only two options: Jewish or Bnei Noach. I don't like it, because I believe teachings of Bnei Noach to be too narrow, but if it will keep the Forum clean from Rashaim, I will do it.

Currently banned from this Forum for promoting Xian Messianic teachings

G-d, Promises and The Days of Awe

"If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are half way through. We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace. No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others. That feeling of uselessness and sel

You will have no argument from me on the label abuse. All of what you listed, I consider to be abuse. And I am sure that argued with a slightly modern touch halacha would have problems with those things too - as it's actually not allowed to treat on…

I think there are a lot of activities we label as 'abuse' which are not illegal in the secular world. For instance, what if a man keeps all the money he makes and gives but a small fraction to his wife? That's legal. And so long as she's got food c…

I am not entirely sure I get what you are aiming at here? It is actually forbidden to beat one's wife. It can be argued that one has an obligation to inform the authorities if someone is threatening another's life (the law not let a pursuer escape)…

Fred, I agree, after thinking about it. In the end each of us have to make a decision as to what we are going to accept as "Torah". That goes for both Jew and Ger. If you have read my essay on the Righteous Gentile, you know that I disagree with w…
